Explore Practical Strategies for Earlier Diagnosis and Patient Care
At Vision Expo 2026, optometrists can expand their clinical knowledge through expert-led educational programs focused on early intervention, ocular surface disease, emerging therapies, and collaborative patient care.
These educational opportunities provide practical, evidence-based insights to help optometrists recognize disease earlier, evaluate emerging treatment options, and develop individualized management strategies that can improve patient outcomes.
Early Intervention Strategies for Dry AMD & Presbyopia
![]()
This course focuses on early intervention strategies for geographic atrophy (GA) and presbyopia, emphasizing the importance of timely diagnosis, emerging therapies that may slow disease progression, and newer pharmacological treatment options for presbyopia.
Participants will explore the prevalence and risk factors associated with early-stage presbyopia, intermediate dry AMD, and GA, while reviewing current and emerging treatment options and the clinical evidence supporting their use.
The program will also highlight multimodal diagnostic strategies, including OCT-A, for the early detection and classification of dry AMD and GA. Attendees will examine the safety and efficacy of emerging treatments, including complement inhibition and multiwavelength photobiomodulation, and learn how to initiate early collaborative care with retina specialists.

Case-Based Conversations on Neuromodulation, Inflammation, Eyelid Margin Disease, and ADC-Related Ocular Toxicity
![]()
This case-based course brings together expert optometrists to explore the diagnosis and management of a range of ocular surface conditions, including Demodex blepharitis, meibomian gland dysfunction, dry eye disease, and acute and chronic inflammation.
Attendees will review established and emerging diagnostic approaches, including tear osmolarity, MMP-9, anterior segment OCT, meibography, gland expression, and collarette detection. The course will also examine current treatment strategies, including neuromodulation, anti-inflammatory therapies, and mechanical and pharmacological approaches to MGD and Demodex blepharitis.
In addition, the program addresses the recognition and management of ocular toxicities associated with antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) used in cancer treatment. Participants will learn about appropriate baseline and follow-up ophthalmic examinations and effective communication with patients and their broader care teams.
